Our Sunday worship service begins at 11:00 a.m. At all times and in all ways we try to be open and welcoming. The lobby and sanctuary usually buzz with conversation as the worship time approaches.
We share music, prayers and scripture; there is usually a sermon by the minister. We take a few minutes each week to talk about the life of our church and what we are doing in the community.
St. Andrew's is happy to have its own professional jazz trio, and an excellent choir that blends congregational volunteers and paid professionals.
The worship space is air conditioned, flexible in its layout, modern and simple. A visual and sound system support the worship experience. We have hearing-assist devices for those who need them.
For children, a program is ready in an adjoining space which is equipped with a direct video feed of the ongoing worship. Of course, children are welcome to remain in the sanctuary throughout the service, and we offer activity packs for use at any time.
Stained glass throughout the building literally combines old and new, with figures from over a century ago set in modern colours and shapes.
Because of our location, 200m east of the Yonge/Bloor intersection, St. Andrew's tends to have visitors and new folk almost every Sunday. There is coffee before service, coffee and other refreshments after, and we share a lunch monthly.
We celebrate Communion (the Lord's Supper) about once a month and offer baptism at Sunday morning worship by arrangement.
St. Andrew's is readily accessible to transit. An elevator serves all levels of our building. We have free underground parking on Sunday mornings. Our parking entrance is at 54 Hayden St. (Hayden is one-way eastbound from Yonge St. to Church St., a short block south of Bloor.)
